Ahh…Autumn is finally upon us! Although here in North Carolina, it still feels like the middle of Summer. I’m definitely a Summer babe – I love a nice tan and fun days by the pool. But, let’s face it – nothing is better than the cool, crisp air that is fall.
I have been so excited to decorate for fall, so as soon as Labor Day hit, the pumpkins came out. And the first spot on the list? My mantle.

My love for greenery.
If you follow along to my Instagram and as I start to write more about home decor, you’ll find that I love greenery. This is faux greenery of course. I can tell you I don’t have much of a green thumb for house plants.
Greenery is simplicity at it’s finest. It looks fresh, pretty and it’s so versatile. Leave it up year round, to get your money’s worth and to keep your home decor looking fresh at all times.

Get The Look.
To keep my mantle pretty, simple and oh so fall, I went with white pumpkins and greenery. I came across some decor inspiration on Pinterest (like everyone, right?) and fell head over heals for the hanging greenery. It gives the mantle a whimsical look, like it came right out of a Secret Garden (yes, I loved that movie as a child).

The piece of greenery lying across the mantle has been there since Spring, and as you see – it fits right in for fall. I added in two sprays of eucalyptus greenery for the hanging pieces. These pieces hang on there own! Which is so nice. You don’t have to play around with it very much to get the look you want. These pieces are top heavy, so you will need something to help it stay. I used two small, clear thumbtacks to hold the pieces in place. I tried tape first (making sure it wouldn’t rip off any finish and it didn’t), but it just wasn’t strong enough to hold.
Originally wanting three of these sprays, I only went with two. I’m guessing this greenery is popular because Hobby Lobby only had two in stock! Once I got them home and put up, I thought the two were just enough. Of course, depending on the length of your mantle – you may want more.

Next? Pumpkins!
This is what really makes fall decor, fall decor. Pumpkins come in oh so many shapes, sizes and colors. I am loving white this year. The white pumpkins really just tie in to the rest of the decor going on in my home, plus it keeps the look fresh and simple.
You can definitely go with traditional orange but the white and green together definitely pop. I didn’t need many pumpkins and I couldn’t go too large as our t.v. is mounted above the mantle. I must say, I sometimes envy the mantle’s without t.v.’s as they can make decorating limited at times.

So, have fun with your pumpkins! Go with different sizes, different shapes. I did want to keep mine looking neat and symmetrical. I did this by putting one larger size in the middle, then smaller one’s on each side. If I didn’t have a t.v. above it? I’d add a lantern to each end of the mantle. Lanterns are so pretty and so cozy – giving all those Autumn feels.
Love the blanket ladder in the corner? That’s a DIY project made by my husband. You can find it here! Everyone needs a blanket ladder for fall, right?

Did you go with this look? I would love to see! Let me know in the comments or tag me on Instagram. Also, don’t forget to pin. Happy fall ya’ll and happy decorating!
