Being a new mom is hard, it’s tricky. It’s an endless game of trial and error. For a while, you’ll have no idea what you’re doing. My must haves for the new mom post is here to help!
I remember being pregnant, relying on my sister, my friends that already had babies to guide me in the best direction of what to buy or register for as a new mom. Relying on reviews, LOTS of them, I would sit and read review, after review on an item before I purchased it.
In this post i’m including my new mommy must haves. The items that made my introduction to motherhood just a little easier. These are all my own opinion.

This is probably my favorite must-have for new moms. I absolutely love this stuff! Sure, there are so, so many diaper rash creams out there on the market. Most of them work well, but for me this one is best. I love the fact it is not pasty, white. My hands don’t have a butchered looking manicure after being applied. It’s clear and not sticky. And, even better it can be used for other reasons, not just for diaper rash. I’ve used it on my son’s cheeks when they were dry from the cold weather, or even on a small scrape. It really does heal fast! This will always be my go to diaper rash cream!
I know what you’re thinking…what the heck is that? I thought the same thing! Seriously. But, this little contraption called NoseFrida works miracles on stuffy noses. Our son was only a few months old when he came down with Bronchiolitis. Awful! His nose was so stopped up. My husband would do a saline rinse in one nostril and suck out of the other (that’s the respiratory therapist coming out). Jaxson would even smile sometimes! I think it tickled him. There is a small filter that catches all of that yucky snot, so no worries, you will not get any into your mouth.
These are an absolute MUST HAVE! As a new mom, you will be changing oh so many diapers. Baby gowns make it super easy and super quick to change those dirty diapers. Who has time to mess with fussy buttons during the night, when the baby is hungry and all you want to do is get back in bed? Nobody. Not only are they functional, but they are so cute on! My son always looked so cozy in these. Most baby gowns also come with hand covers on the sleeves, since babies are always wanting to touch their faces and baby nails are sharp! These make a great baby shower gift. Add a monogram or name for a personal touch.
Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier
When I began my search for baby carriers, I really relied on reviews. Nothing is more helpful than real reviews from real moms that have actually used the product. There are oh so many baby carriers out there and many can be pricey. I knew the Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier would be the right choice because it had (and still does) AWESOME reviews and an even better price point! My son fell asleep in this carrier many times while I was cleaning up around the house!
Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat With Tray
I can’t even tell you how many times this little seat came in handy! This is another item that often traveled to my parents house. I used this many times while I was in the kitchen, or while taking a shower. I knew my son was safely contained and occupied with the attached toys and he was in plain sight of me. This little tray is great for placing finger foods and is easily detachable for washing. The seat cushion also comes off for easy washing. This seat comes in a variety of prints and colors, making it versatile for all genders!
Chicco Bravo LE Trio Travel System in Genesis
This was such a great purchase! I knew I wanted Chicco after my sister had it for her first little and loved it. It also gets amazing reviews from other mom’s. The stroller is light weight and folds/unfolds easily for storing and for moving in and out of a vehicle. I also love the sporty design. The car seat installs easily with the LATCH-system. The headrest and adjustable shoulder pads are removable for easy cleaning. The car seat base is also included in this set, making it a trio and a one stop shop for all parts. Another awesome registry item!
Burt’s Bees: Mama Bee
Last, but certainly not least, is something for the expecting mom or the new mom that is still trying to feel like herself. Burt’s Bees Mama Bee. I love this stuff! I used this throughout my pregnancy. Bath time is my relaxing time and I resorted to the tub a lot while pregnant, it really helped an aching back. After a nice bath i’d rub Burt’s Bees Mama Bee on my belly and i’d use the bath oil every where else. Let me tell you, it felt amazing! As mom’s we tend to forget about ourselves, so do yourself a favor and try this. I think you’ll love it! You can also check out my post for self-care tips for busy moms!
